Blue Ridge Mountains & Its Natural Trails
Ohhh well how to start describing the amazing beauty of nature in this region. Even thought we went on a period of transition between Autumn and Winter, the views are breathtaking. I remember it was cold and breeze but that didn’t stop us to start one of our trails through the Blue Ridge Mountains.
We stopped first by the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center (we needed to know about any alerts in effect due weather and actually where we were heading) they are numerous trails along the blue ridge parkway, all of them offer different views and different types of hikes in length and strength. First trail of the day was Craggy Gardens Pinnacle which is an iconic Asheville adventure since it is relatively close to town. In addition to long-range views, you’ll see dramatic rock formations (Total 1.2 miles Level: Moderate).
Craggy Gardens Pinnacle Kongo loved the hike! Crabb Tree Falls
The second trail was Crabtree Falls this was actually my favorite since it takes you on a loop to see one of the most beautiful North Caroline Waterfalls, the sound of the water echoes through the forest and motivates you to keep going, this trail is not as easy as Craggy Gardens but is worth the walk! (Total: 3 miles Level: Strenuous)
After 2 trails and a total of 5,2 miles of hiking we were done for the day. We ended up dinning in the middle of the forest on an amazing restaurant by the Blue Ridge Parkway called The Mountain View where the evening said goodbye to us with an impressive view of the mountains and a beloved sunset.
